Thats a very good and useful class ... !!
Only the jquery.js is too long ... maybe organize these better ... to understand better ....!!
Ajax is more time more used in web applications .... !!

jQuery ( http://jquery.com/ ) is very,very good javascript utility and I hope phpclasses members will recommend some code optimization and maybe better ajax and exceptions event handlers.
I'll keep thinking on your remarks and package features.
Hope jQuery.com will provide soon a new version of their great product.
